An utter disgrace

Unfortunately, I'm talking about myself.

went for ippt...everything went on fine and in fact, it was much better than I had hoped for. 5 points for all 4 stations. I was really scared my knee couldn't tahan the shuttle run and SBJ, but well..it did.

ok..thats the end of the good part. then came the 2.4km. I thought sure can get silver already. 3 rounds around Maju camp. I was in the first detail of the 2nd wave. The PTI line us up and set us off. I ran a blistering 3min for the 1st round....................................................

followed by 4min 30secs each for the next 2 rounds and ended up with a timing of 12min 13sec.

Lucky they add the bronze award..still got 100 bucks....

guess a couple of month with no running at all and a big Marche meal last last night really isn't the best way to prepare for ippt. well..not that i'm those kind that don't care one..but my knee just didnt allow me to train. but now i think i can start to do some running. knee didnt really show any problems during ippt. at least some good news for me. think its recovering (i was told by the physio that for some, the meniscus never heals) but i will guard against returning to any full action for the time being until the physio gives me the green light.

my knee still gives me discomfort when i try to bend it fully though..but the pain is lessening as time goes by lah..but the rate at which is recovering is disgustingly slow man..its been 2 months(although i did aggravate it a couple of times). well..the physio says its gonna take quite some time.

so i think i'll stick to gymming and swiming for the moment and maybe clock in some mileage on land too. need to get rid of spare tyre also!!

Is the B4 legacy going to end?

Just heard the latest news...didn't manage to get all the B4 guys to stay together anymore.

Well...it seems aaron n ewen weren't careful enough to watch out for those loose people just trying to find a place to stay. In the end the whole of B4 is filled up..WTF!!

now colin and louis are stranded..probably have to settle for D4. Well..ewen say he will talk to a couple of those loose guys to see if they are willing to relocate. hopefully it works.

if not...3 possibilities

1. we stay where we are..colin n louis stay wherever is left(i really wouldn't like this choice)

2. mi and chip(hopefully) goes to D4 and join them(it seems that only mi n chip are willing to relocate, we are too brotherhood..no pang seh one!, guess hc ewen baka have thier own agendas in staying back in B4)

3. ewen manages to squueze 2 rooms out in B4 for them(everyone happy).

4. f**k hall...move back home lah! frens want to stay together also so difficult..probably this is the only reason seniors stay back in hall after so many years..FRIENDS. if this is taken away from us...few see the point of staying back. (we are not chee hongs..unlike pple who stay in hall to chee hong all the way one)

5. then 2nd sem go KR or EH as imports and play ihg all out for them!

ok...thats 5 possibilties....

aiyah..i'm just pissed..why can't things work out properly and nicely. really want the few of us to stay together man..mi chip colin louis aaron..pretty much only the 5 of us still feel the bond. frm B1 to B4..the 3 yrs man..aiyah..i can't do much anyway..so i shall see how this situation unfolds..

IPPT

Hong Kan liao....

knee still pain and i only got 1 wk left to clear my ippt.

haiz..i think i just try to swim and do some workout until my ippt and try to pass it..if cannot make it den i think i just fail it lah..

but dunno wat will happen?? amyone care to enlighten me? what happens if you don't pass during your window?

Why do reactions take so long

In computer lab at E5 now lazing around. WHY?

cause the stupid reactions takes 6 hours....why why why??? why do reactions take so many many hours. why can't it just react on the spot! haiz...sianz lah..been waiting since 12+..can only procced with my experiment at 6.

then i'll need to distill the excess reagents and solvents out of the flask so as to obtain the pure product. and the distillation is gonna take mi another 2 3 hours at least! WHY can't it just distill out!!

WHY EVERYTHING HAVE TO WAIT!!

My Poor Knee

It all started in 1998. When i starting jumping for VS. Guess i started too suddenly to train for jumps without adequate conditioning therefore resulted in an inflamed tendon. then in 1999 and 2000 i suffered frm meniscus tear. trained too much. been thru many physiotherapist sessions at SSC at national stadium. got massaged, electrified and gymmed and all..

frm then on..time to time if i accidentally exert too much force on my knee i will suffer some pain..but all was pretty fine...

den in late april 2006, while having a game of court soccer at TH court..a clash in the air and landed akwardly on the ground. OUCHES..knee damn pain..and i still want to play hero and carry on..in the end aggravated it..cant even walk properly man..

for the next 2 wks..i cant even straighten my leg and cant bend it fully either..cant squat or kneel. f**king painful..den after a mth i tried to play court soccer again with my vs frens..kena again..but after i rested for a while..the pain went off..and i continued playin for a while in a relac mode..

den ivp got frenly against medicine..i garang and decided to take part in it..wear a nike knee support thingy..den knnbccb, the right back got cut by mi already den slide frm behind..the tackle was ok..it was the fall..the angle and impact really hurt my knee man..and i had to be helped off the pitch..rested on the grandstand for a while and the pain gradually subsided..but nonetheless aggravated my knee problem...couldnt squat without pain again..

den in the end i decided to see the physio..i decided that the recovery was taking too long on its own..and my knee actually gave the physio some problem as he couldnt really diagnose which part of the knee was hurting mi. he's quite pro and gd and nice lah..so no complaints. he did all the tests for ligament and meniscus and i had no pain..but on trying to bend my knee fully..the pain was excruciating..so he came to a conclusion that i needed no scan or op for the moment and discussed with mi how to strengthen my leg and that the meniscus was indeed the problem area. the recovery for meniscus takes very long and he recomended mi to see him again after 1 mth to chk on the progress.

so here i am..out for at least 1 mth and probably wun be able to return to full action for at least another mth frm there..might try to kick a ball ard here and there when i have a chance..just to keep my leg active and not nua all the way..

a note to myself....be disciplined! dun exert too much when i play or workout..and start on my fyp report!!

Many Nights of Soccer

Been catching all the matches so far except italy ghana one when i finally succumbbed to the zzzz monster..so far so gd lah..the teams i support won..etc argentina portugal and korea. really would like to see argentina lift the world cup at teh end of this tournament.

after missing lab for most part of last week..i finally resumed my torturous lab sessions again..

meeting prof tml at 11am to do some synthesis work. trying to go earlier to gym n swim if i can make it up that early..still gotta catch brazil croatia later.

got invited to Nat's party on the 1st of july.

gonna spend tml's nite at my honey's place..looking forward to sleeping in her new room.

still can't get motivated enough to get started on my fyp report!!

looking thru' all the pricelist for computers parts frm sim lim..headache..gonna give my desktop a major makeover..internally

Dreams

dream facts & tidbits

1. One third of our lives is spent sleeping.

2. In your lifetime, you would've spent about 6 years of it dreaming. That is more than 2,100 days spent in a different world.

3. Dreams have been here as long as mankind. Back in the Roman Era, striking and significant dreams were submitted to the Senate for analysis and interpretation.

4. Everybody dreams. EVERYBODY! Simply because you do not remember your dream does not mean that you did not dream.

5. Dreams are indispensable. A lack of dream activity can mean protein deficiency or a personality disorder.

6. We dream on average of one or two hours every night. And we often even have 4-7 dreams in one night.

7. Blind people do dream. Whether visual images will appear in their dream depends on whether they where blind at birth or became blind later in life. But vision is not the only sense that constitutes a dream. Sounds, tactility, and smell become hypersensitive for the blind and their dreams are based on these senses.

8. Five minutes after the end of the dream, half the content is forgotten. After ten minutes, 90% is lost.

9. The word dream stems from the Middle English word, dreme which means "joy" and "music".

10. Men tend to dream more about other men, while women dream equally about men and women.

11. Studies have shown that our brain waves are more active when we are dreaming than when we are awake.

12. Dreamers who are awakened right after REM sleep, are able to recall their dreams more vividly than those who slept through the night until morning.

13. Physiologically speaking, researchers found that during dreaming REM sleep, males experience erections and females experience increased vaginal blood flow - no matter what the content of the dream. In fact, "wet dreams" may not necessarily coincide with overtly sexual dream content.

14. People who are giving up smoking have longer and more intense dreams.

15. Toddlers do not dream about themselves. They do not appear in their own dreams until the age of 3 or 4.

16. If you are snoring, then you cannot be dreaming.

17. Nightmares are common in children, typically beginning at around age 3 and occurring up to age 7-8.

18. In a poll, 67% of Americans have experienced Deja Vu in their dreams, occurring more often in females than males.
